Carl Stapleton 88, of Ashland KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell KY.

He was born in Greenup County Kentucky on November 11, 1928 a son of the late Hayden Stapleton & Mary Sullivan Qualls.

He was retired from AK Steel Coke Plant and a member of the Kilgore United Methodist Church in Rush.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by 5 brothers and 7 sisters.

He is survived by his wife Shirley Janetta Neace Stapleton; a son, Stephen Wayne Stapleton and Gwen of Greenup; two daughters, Jane Molette and her husband Donald of Ashland and Rhonda Amos and her husband Chuck of Rush; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Floyd Neace.

Burial will follow in the Warnock Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, August 16, 2017 and from 11:00 AM till the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
