Donald Dee “Donnie” McGinnis 75, of Hoods Run in Greenup County went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at his home.

He was born on Hoods Run on October 15, 1941 a son of Linwood & Hazel Gullett McGinnis.

He was a retired Laborer with CSX, an avid horseman and a friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his father, Linwood McGinnis and his wife Carol McGinnis.

He is survived by his mother, Hazel McGinnis; two daughters, Deann Wireman (Steve) and Lanette McGinnis (Jason) both of Greenup; two brothers, John McGinnis (Diane) and Kenneth McGinnis (Sharon) both of Greenup; four grandchildren, Cody McGinnis (Jordin), Garth Wireman (Haylee), Courtney Shayla Dawn Elkins (Eli) and Lane Wireman; four great grandchildren, Ryan McGinnis, Jackson McGinnis, Brielynn McGinnis and Emeri Fitzpatrick; a special friend, Lynden Adkins and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brothers, John Reed and Danny Brown.

Burial will follow in the McGuire Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM Saturday, August 26 and 2 hours before the service Sunday at the funeral home.
