Harold Gene Sheffield 76, of Hoods Run in Greenup County went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Harold was born in Boyd County KY on September 16, 1940 a son of the late Ray & Irene Hayes Sheffield.

He retired with 38 years of service from AK Steel as a furnace operator, attended Brigham Young University earning a degree in mechanical engineering and served in the National Guard from 1963 – 1969.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by his wife, Dianne Grubb Sheffield.

He is survived by four daughters, Rebecca Meadows (Renee Beckett) of Ashland, Colette Huddleston (Loren) of Dry Ridge KY, Nicole Sheffield of Greenup and Natalie Carter (Andrew) of Greenup; two Sisters, Mildred Christensen (David) of Summit and Janet Shields (Clinton) of Flatwoods; eight grandchildren, Ryan Smith (Bethany), Brooke Jobe; Nicholas Sheffield (Jessica Gartin), Jordan Vance, Caroline Vance, Natasha Huddleston, Andrew “Trey” Carter and Jonathan Carter; two very special friends, Don Baker and Ebert Harris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Road Home Cemetery on Hoods Run in Greenup County by Brother Terry Bryant.

Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Tuesday at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY.
