Joyce Avonell Fortner 70 , of Greenup KY went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wurtland KY.

She was born in Ashland KY on February 12, 1946 a son of the late Richard & Mary Louise Stewart Tackett.

She was of the Christian Baptist Faith.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by a son, James Willard Adkins and a grandson, Matthew Richard Adkins.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Albert O. Fortner; two sons, Daniel Lee Fortner and Joshua Cyrus Fortner both of Greenup; four daughters, Lisa Ann Nichols (Kevin), Mary Sue Crisp and Stephanie Marie Adkins (Keith) all of Greenup and Chantel Nicole Spears(Ed) of Wurtland; a brother, Harold David Tackett of Greenup; a sister, Barbara Ann Howard of Greenup; a daughter in law, Sherry Lynn Adkins of South Shore; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brothers Kenny Martin and Ed Spears.

Burial will follow in the Tackett Cemetery in Greenup KY.

Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Tuesday September 13, 2016 and Noon till the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
