Marcella Ann Darnell, 76 of Lloyd KY passed gently at home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Lloyd where she loved children and teaching her ladies in Sunday School. She loved God more and more every day and was a faithful servant of her Lord Jesus for well over 50 years.

She was born in Blanchester Ohio on October 11, 1940 a daughter of the late Fillard & Annabelle Thompson Tolle.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband of 54 years, Vernon Thomas Darnell; a sister, Connie Tolle; a step daughter and son in law, Velma and Ray Nickel and a sister in law, Audrey Boyle.

She is survived by eight children, Lora Lands, Lainie Darnell, Kathy (Johnnie) Adams, Hannah Darnell and Abby Darnell all of Lloyd, Rhonda Heck of Ashland, Paul Darnell of Portsmouth and Julie Darnell of Lebanon OH; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at Noon Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Lloyd KY.

Burial will follow at the Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd.

Visitation will be after 6:00 PM on Monday, March 20 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup and one hour before the funeral on Tuesday at the church.

Lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Lloyd in Marcella’s honor.
