Michael Thomas Urwin, 71, of Franklin Furnace, OH, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

He was born in Gallipolis, OH, on June 16, 1946 to William Thomas Urwin & Elizabeth Ellen Payne Urwin of Chillicothe.

He was a deacon of Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church, a retired Chemical Operator for Sunoco, a former member of the Ohio Air National Guard, and was currently employed at O'Reilly’s Auto Parts.

He is survived by his mother, his wife Lydia Alice Wright Urwin, two sons, Jason Urwin and wife Sarah of Straughn, IN, Joe Urwin and wife Melanie of Haverhill, daughter Julie McGuire and husband James of Franklin Furnace, seven grandchildren, Hayden, Jonathan, Houston, David, Michael, Anna, and Maura, a brother David Urwin of Richmond Dale, OH, a sister Jo Ellen Marshall of Chillicothe, nephews Matthew Black and Brad Urwin, niece Lindsay Mollohan, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 9th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup, KY, and one hour before the funeral services.

Funeral services will be 11:00 on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at the Franklin Furnace Independent Baptist Church by Brothers Dennis Hankins and Mark Nichols.

Burial to follow at Wheelersburg Memorial Gardens.
