Robert “Bobby D” Martin 79, of Argillite KY went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Greenup County KY on December 10, 1937 a son of the late Robert Lee & Carrie Lee Blevins Martin.

He was a member of Glory Hill Community Church in Grayson, a retired union sheet metal worker with 33 years of service, a member of Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 98, a tobacco farmer, an avid gardener and loved to play horseshoes.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by five brothers, Roy Martin, Eugene Martin, Edward Martin, Ralph Martin and Troy Martin and two sisters, Lucy Mae Stepp and Betty Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eula Faye Claxon Martin; a son, Robert Douglas Martin and his wife Jennifer of Argillite; a daughter, Carrie Lene Glass and her husband Kyle of Argillite; four sisters, Ruth Rose of Raceland, Josephine Bradford of Grayson, Dorothy Forbes of Argillite and Phyllis Rose of Argillite; four grandchildren, Sarah Knipp and her husband Ryan, Drew Glass and his wife Tina, Zach Martin and Kayla Satterfield and her husband Randy; a great grandchild, Ava Satterfield and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brothers, Don Pope, Chris Bellew and Brian Flannery.  

Burial will follow in the Martin Cemetery in Argillite KY.

Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Saturday and two hours before the funeral Sunday at the funeral home.
