Carlis Tharp

Carlis Tharp 79 of South Shore went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Wilstacy KY on October 25, 1939 a son of the late Charles & Clara Wilson Tharp.

He was a self employed Wood Craftsman and a member and a deacon of the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by a son, Carlis Dwain Tharp and six brothers, Earl Tharp, Tom Tharp, Osborne Tharp, William Tharp, Herman Tharp and Charles Tharp Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Phyllis Linda Moore Tharp; two daughters, Linda Stephens and her husband Tim of Flatwoods and Penny Perry and her husband Steve of South Shore; seven grandchildren, Joshua Stephens, Andrew Stephens, Keri Travis, Seth Perry, Wesley Stephens, Scott Virgin and Dylan Perry; three great grandchildren, Austin Stephens, Elijah Stephens and Silas Stephens; three brothers, Ed Tharp and his wife Joan of Argillite, Brice Tharp and his wife Dorothy of Ona WV and Randy Tharp of Indianapolis IN; two sisters, Zelma Fugate of Sellersburg IN and Thelma Johnson of Richmond KY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church by Elders Gary Adkins and Gary Blevins.

Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY and two hours before the funeral Monday at the church.

Additional church services will be held at 7:00 PM Sunday during visitation at the funeral home.
