David Eugene Stevens 72 of Lloyd KY went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Ironton OH.
He was born in Portsmouth OH on May 8, 1947 a son of the late George Edward and Mabel Stone Stevens,
He was a retired welder for the Army Corps of Engineers, an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was of the Baptist faith, loved riding ATV’s, roller skating, traveling and being a mechanic.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by two brothers, Darrell Stevens and George Stevens and a sister, Phyllis Garland.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Wendelin Kay Wireman Stevens; a son, George David Stevens (Amy) of Dayton OH; two daughters, Renay Stevens of Lloyd and Rebecca Stevens (Mike) of West Portsmouth; two grandchildren that he raised, Whitney Spears (Matthew) and Bronson Howard both of Lloyd; two brothers, Roy Stevens of Phoenix AZ and Bill Stevens of West Portsmouth; two sisters, Betty Silvey of West Portsmouth and Ellen Mickels of Sciotoville; seven grandchildren, Brittani Hylander, Rachel Howard, Levi Howard, Tiffani Nance, Spencer Stevens, Dylan Wilson and Kristen Wilson; nine great grandchildren, Brooklin, Isaiah, Josiah, Chloe, Rylan, Hunter, Emma, Ryker and Micah along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2019 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Kenny Martin.
Burial will follow in the Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of the funeral on Friday.
Military graveside rites will be held by Kenova American Legion.
