Eddie Bennett 60, of Franklin Furnace OH went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.

He was born on July 9, 1957 in Ironton OH a son of the late Kenneth & Pauline Fulk Bennett.

He was an employee of the Norfolk & Southern Railroad where he was a member of the road gang.

He is survived by a brother, Kenneth Bennett (Tami) of Franklin Furnace; a sister, Joann Hughes (Bill) of Haverhill; a step daughter, Aimee Kouns (Kevin) of Pedro; four nephews, Billy Hughes (Brenda), Jeremy Hughes (Pam), Jason Bennett and Eric Bennett (Autumn); three step grandchildren, Gage Butler, Ryleigh Kouns and Gavin Kouns; and many athletes and their families he coached along the years that always referred to him as “Papaw Eddie”.  

Eddie spent most of his last several years coaching baseball in the Ironton Community. He was loved by many athletes and their families. Next baseball season will not be the same without “Papaw Eddie”

No services are planned at this time, a memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to offset funeral expenses.
