Fay A. Johnson 90, of Greenup went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at her residence.

She was born in Tygart’s Valley on December 12, 1927 a daughter of the late John & Emily Vaughn Adkins.

She was a member of the Greenup Christian Church. Her favorite bible verse was “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Joe Johnson in 2008; five brothers, Ezra Adkins, Virgil Adkins, James Adkins, Leonard Adkins and Edward Adkins and four sisters, Mabel Adkins, Barbara Adkins, Martha Billups and Hazel Baker.

She is survived by one son, Kenneth J. Johnson and his wife RuthAnn of Lexington; a daughter, Pamela J. Nichols and her husband Don of Worthington; two grandchildren, Brandon Johnson of Lexington and Kristen Francis and her husband Mike of Worthington; two great grandchildren, Ford Francis and Shepard Francis; a brother, Boyd Adkins and his wife Edith of Lloyd and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Greenup Christian Church by Brother Mike Dennis.

Burial will follow in the Vaughn – Johnson Cemetery in Load KY.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of the funeral on Tuesday at the church.

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup has been entrusted with the arrangements.
