Howard Daniel Adkins 84 of Wheelersburg OH went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the home of his daughter in Winchester KY.
He was born in Flatwoods KY on January 19, 1934 a son of the late James & Edna Wright Adkins.
He was a member of the Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church, a retired engineer for the N & W Railroad and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by his wife, Elizabeth Gay Salmons Adkins; a son, Howard Michael Adkins; three brothers, Calvin Adkins, Charles Adkins and Raymond Adkins and three sisters, Helen Justice, Hazel Simones and Edna Adkins.
He is survived by a son, Robert Wayne Adkins and his wife Melissa of Chillicothe; a daughter, Carol Jean Roe and her husband Jeff of Winchester; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three sisters, Nora Salmons of Sciotoville, Gladys Coleman of Wheelersburg and Thelma Adkins of Ashland and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church on Reid Street in Flatwoods by Elders of the Friendship Church.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace OH.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Friday, May 24, 2018 at the church.
Church services will be held Friday at 7:00 PM during visitation at the church.
