James Thornton Obituary

James Everett Thornton 75 of Raceland KY went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Russell KY on September 8, 1942 a son of the late Charles McKenzie & Willie Rebecca Watts Thornton.

He was a retired Carman for CSX Railroad and attended the Westwood Christian Church.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by his wife of 50 years, Gloria Dean “Deanie” Hayes Thornton on March 24, 2018.

He is survived by a son, James Lonzo Thornton and his wife Susan of Kodiak TN; two daughters, Lisa Dawn Colley and her husband Gary of Mt. Sterling and Tina Lynn Thornton of Raceland; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

Combined graveside memorial services for James and his wife Deanie will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE in Greenup County by Brother Kenny Martin.

There is no visitation.
