Jerry Edward Diller 77 of South Shore KY went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2017.

He was born on March 18, 1940 the eldest son of the late Raymond L. & Ethel Wright Diller.

He was retired Operator from the North American Refractory, a member and past president of the United Steel Workers Local 133, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He loved to go bowling, fishing and spends time with his grandsons and family.

Jerry was very active in his community; he was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the South Shore First Church of God, the former Mayor of the City of South Shore, and a 40 year member of the South Shore Fire Department.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by a grandson, Zachary Kevin Diller and a sister, Nadean Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Sue Diller; a son, Kevin Edward Diller and his wife Sue Ellen of South Shore; two grandsons, Andrew Joseph Diller and Nicholas Chase Diller both of South Shore; two brothers, Michael Diller and his wife Rebecca of South Shore and Roland Diller and his wife Kathy of South Portsmouth; a sister, Jewell Dennis of Zanesville OH and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the South Shore First Church of God by Brother Acy Gibson.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Saturday October 28, 2017 and 11:00 AM till the time of the service Sunday at the church.

Military graveside honors will be held by the James Dickey American Legion Post 23.

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup has been entrusted with the arrangements.
