Wayne O. Salmons 86 of Wheelersburg OH went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Hospice Center in Portsmouth OH.
He was born in Lawrence County Kentucky on October 4, 1932 a son of the late Bennett & Daisy Lockwood Salmons.
He was a retired mechanic for Norfolk and Southern Railroad, a 50 year member of Western Sun Masonic Lodge #91 in Wheelersburg, the Scottish rite and a moderator and member of the Concord United Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by a daughter, Debra Lynn Salmons and seven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nora Alice Adkins Salmons of Wheelersburg; two daughters, Pamela Hunter of Portsmouth and Patricia Stapleton and her husband David of Worthington; two sisters, Conolee Williams of Wheelersburg and Fannie Davis of Lucasville; five grandchildren, Steven Wayne Hunter, David Matthew Stapleton, Timothy Ray Stapleton, David Lee Hunter and Katy Evans; eleven great grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Ivory Williamson.
Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace OH.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Wednesday and 2 hours before the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
