William Linville “Bill” McClurg 85 of Greenup went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
He was born in Lewis County KY on August 30, 1932 a son of the late William Edward & Ida Applegate McClurg.
He was a former equipment operator on the tack gang for the C & O Railroad, a veteran of the U. S. Army, a 50 year member of Harrison Fullerton Masonic Lodge #937, a member of Ironton VFW Post 8850 and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by his wife Alma Leona Moore McClurg and a grandson, Derrick Barnes.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond McClurg and his wife Gail & William Dale (Barbara Bailey) McClurg both of Greenup; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; his girlfriend, Edna Oliver of Flatwoods and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, November 16, 2017 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Dwight Bailey.
Burial will follow in the Siloam Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Wednesday and one hour before the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
Masonic funeral rites will be held at 7:00 PM during visitation.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by Ironton VFW Post 8850.
