Richard Alan Madden 59 of Lloyd KY, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY.
He was born in Ashland KY on September 30, 1963 a son of Herman Richard & Bessie Lee Madden.
He was a retired Conductor for C.S.X. Railroad and Pepsi Co.
He loved his family and to fish, he tirelessly served his community by being a member of the Lloyd Nazarene Church serving as the Sunday School Superintendent and as a member of the church board of directors, Vice President of Greenup Meals on Wheels and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lloyd Volunteer Fire Department.
He was known as Pappy to his granddaughters, was the longtime coach of the Greysbranch Greyhounds but his friends just knew him as Flop.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Madden and his brother, William Ralph Madden.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jennifer Markley Madden; his father, Herman Richard Madden; two sons, James Alan Madden and Jordan Taylor Madden and his wife Hannah; two granddaughters, Isabelle Grace Madden and Paisley Ann Madden; a sister, Vickie Blair and her husband Arthur and a sister-in-law, Connie Madden all of Lloyd KY along with numerous extended family members and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2023 at the Lloyd Nazarene Church by Brothers Kenneth Martin Jr. and Kenneth Martin III.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of the service Thursday at the church.
Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
