Alice Stephens
1928 – 2020
Alice Joy Stephens 92 of Oldtown KY went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 10, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born in Samaria KY on January 29, 1928 a daughter of the late Thomas Edward & Carrie Carr Stephens.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the most loving and caring soul ever put on this earth.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, George Ellis Stephens in 2000, three sons, Oscar Glen Stephens, Charles Douglas Stephens and George Randal Stephens; a daughter, Joyce Diane Stephens; a daughter in law; a son in law and 10 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by nine children, James Stephens and his wife Wilma, Rick Stephens and his wife Michelle, Donna Fletcher and her husband Rick and Ann Breedlove and her husband Manuel all of Oldtown, Mary Dean and her husband Sam of Russia OH, Lois Christy Stephens of Pleasant Hill OH, Deborah Tirey of Fort Myers FL, Theresa Gilmartin and her husband Kevin of Seffner FL and Wilma Sackett and her husband John of Troy OH; a daughter in law, Ann Stephens of Greenup; a brother, Oliver Wayne Stephens of Grayson; two sisters, Hazel Hart of Columbus and Betty Sutton of Grayson; 41 grandchildren; 95 great grandchildren; 48 great great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Oldtown KY by Brother John Lybrook.
Burial will follow in the Stephens Memorial Cemetery in Oldtown.
Visitation will be after 5:00 PM Friday August 14, 2020 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY and from 11:00 AM till the time of the service Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to Community Hospice 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland KY 41101.
