Amy Beth Smith, 57, of South Portsmouth, Kentucky, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 22, 2026.

Amy was born on August 24, 1969, in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Cooper and Dusti Boggs (Rick) Dillow of South Shore, Kentucky.

Amy was a 1988 graduate of Greenup County High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Shawnee State University and dedicated 25 years to teaching in Portsmouth City Schools.

She attended the Old Regular Baptist Church, where she experienced peace and love through God’s people, whom she loved dearly.

Amy deeply loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother to her grandson, Kamron, whom she absolutely adored. She faced life’s challenges with tremendous strength and courage while continuing to show love and kindness to those around her.

In addition to her father, Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Cecil “Lucky” and Lula Annetta Boggs, and her paternal grandparents, Charles C. “Joe Bell” Cooper and Anna Louise Cooper.

In addition to her mother and stepfather, Amy is survived by her loving husband, Donnie Smith; her daughter, Haley (Ethan) Kelley; her beloved grandson, Kamron; her sisters, Amber Quillen and April (Michael) Leslie, all of South Shore, Kentucky; and her nieces and nephews, Mariah, TJ, Garret, Micah, and Brooklyn.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at New Mount Olive Old Regular Baptist Church 215 Parker Hollow South Shore, Kentucky 41175, with Elders Gary Blevins, Zach Stewart, Nate Caudill, Seth Stewart and Scott Adkins officiating.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
