1943 - 2024
Anna Sue (Kilburn/Barney) Baker of Richmond, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the age of 81.
Born in Greenup County Kentucky on September 30, 1943, to the late McKinley and Louraine (Prater) Kilburn, she was one of 9 siblings, including Ellie, Wes, Carl (Junior), Mabel, Newt (Buddy), Bessie, Magdlene (Mag), and Tiney.
Anna was married to Charles Barney Jr. for 43 years and resided in Worthington, KY until his passing.
She was a long-time member of Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church where she maintained and cultivated many lifelong friendships. Anna was an amazing cook and enjoyed showing her love through food. Her green beans and biscuits and gravy could not be beat.
Anna was preceded in death along with her parents by her first husband Charles, brothers, Wes and Newt and sisters, Ellie, Bessie, Mabel and Tiney.
She is survived by her husband of over 18 years, Bobby Baker, brother, Carl (Jean) Kilburn, sister, Mag Kilburn, daughters, Kathy (Allan) Murphy and Sharon (Donnie) Allen, 4 grandchildren, Erin (Chad) Huber, Brianna Murphy, Allison Easter and Charles Harley James, stepdaughters, Dottie (Larry) Oler and Sue Brazeau, 8 step grandchildren, along with many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, her church family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 -1 pm, with funeral services immediately following on Saturday, December 21, at Wright’s Funeral Home 1017 Main St., Greenup, KY by Elders Gary Blevins, Zach Stewart, and Jeff Allen.
Burial will follow in the Brick Union Cemetery in Lloyd, KY.
