1940 – 2022

Betty Lee Adkins 81 of Flatwoods KY went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Greenup County KY on July 16, 1940, a daughter of the late Harry Lee Johnson and the late Merle Boyles Walker.

She was a loving mother and grandmother; she loved to play bingo and was affectionately known as Bingo Betty.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Richard “Dick” Adkins; a son, Rodney Keith Adkins; her stepfather, Paul Walker and two sisters, Ida Melvin and Vicki Reed.

She is survived by two sons, Richard Adkins Jr and Timothy Adkins both of Flatwoods; a daughter, Leigh Ann Rister and her husband Don of Minford OH; two grandchildren, Nickolas Ashley and Brooklyn Adkins; a brother, Paul David Johnson of Columbus OH along with a host of extended family and friends.

There are no formal services scheduled at this time.

Burial will be held at a later date in the Prichard Cemetery in Greenup KY.

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY has been entrusted with Betty’s Arrangements.

Betty’s family is grateful to Hospice and the home care nurses Kim and Amber who showed great professionalism and extreme compassion for our Mother and our family.
