Beverly Ann Johnson Plummer passed away July 26 after a long illness.

Born Sept. 13, 1940, in Middletown, Ohio, she was the daughter of Frances Adams Johnson and James Harlan Johnson. She came with her family to Greenup, Kentucky, during her high school years. After graduating from McKell High School, she lived with them in the Tennessee Gas compound and worked at the Williams Shoe factory in Portsmouth, Ohio.

Beverly married the love of her life, Roger Plummer, in 1965. Together they built a home and raised their family on a small farm in Greenup County, where she lived until her passing. A person of unshakable faith, she was a member of New Life Fellowship Church in Russell.

She is reunited in glory with her parents and her sister, June Johnson Spencer. She is survived by her husband; her children, Darin Plummer and Teresa Tyler Plummer of Columbus, Ohio, and Kelli Plummer of Greenup; a granddaughter, Emily Knife of Merrit Island, Florida; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Family was at the center of Beverly’s life. In addition to making a home for her husband and children, she devoted time to helping her parents on their farm in Clearfield, Kentucky. She and June were loving caregivers to their mother in her later years, and Beverly cared in turn for June during her long final illness. She joyfully spoiled and inspired generations of nieces, nephews and other children, and she was a renowned cook and baker whose potato salad will never be equaled.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday July 31, 2025, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY, with Rev. Jason Plummer officiating.

Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery in South Shore.

Visitation will be from 5:00 till 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, and from 11 a.m. till the time of the funeral on Thursday at the funeral home.
