Bobby Bear
1964 – 2025
Robert Eugene “Bobby” Bear 60, of Lynn KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.
Bobby was born in Portsmouth OH on August 28, 1964, a son of Denny Bear of Pedro OH and Phyllis Ann Patton Bear of Greenup KY.
He was a retired operator for 32 years with Pregis in Wurtland KY and was the president of their local Steel Workers Union. He was an avid sports fan coaching many ball teams throughout the years, he was a dance dad, loved to go fishing and camping but most of all he called himself the #1 Babysitter and he loved to be with his grandchildren.
Bobby had strong faith in the Lord even during a tough battle with cancer. Bobby was a faithful Christian, always praying and studying the Bible and sharing with others about Jesus. He served Load Christian Baptist for several years and was baptized into Christ on April 22, 2025.
Bobby is survived, along with his parents by his wife of 39 years, Lisa Carr Bear; a son, Chris Bear and his wife Sarah of Somerville OH; a daughter, Stephanie Bentley and her husband David of Lloyd; four grandchildren, Eli Bear, Anna Bentley, Allie Bentley and Aubrey Bentley; two brothers, Den Bear and his wife Machell of Greenup and Jason Bear of Ashland; a sister, Christy Ratliff and her husband Mark of Greenup along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Robbie Bond.
Burial will follow in the Quillen Cemetery in Lynn KY.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, and 2 hours before the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend their most heartfelt gratitude to his sister and brother in law, Pam & Calvin Short for always being there and to the staff of UK/Kings Daughters and to Community Hospice during Bobby’s battle with cancer.
