1953 – 2024

Charles William Pennington, 70 of Greenup, KY went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

He was born in Ashland, Kentucky on April 2, 1953, a son of the late Bill & Hilma (Howell) Pennington.

He was a former Water Treatment Plant Operator for the City of Melbourne, FL and a former Bus Driver for the Greenup County School System.

He is survived by two children, Charles William Pennington II and his wife DeAnna of Brownsville, TX and Sarah Marie Pennington of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren, Brina DuBay, Samantha Roberson, and Javon Frame; a great grandchild, Henry DuBay; five siblings, Michael Pennington of Morehead, KY, Karen Worthington of Ashland, KY, Georgianne Gordon of Melbourne, FL, Jeffrey Pennington of South Shore, KY and Samuel Pennington of South Portsmouth, KY; and his girlfriend, Samantha Sizemore of Greenup, KY; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronald Pennington and granddaughter, Ashlee Pennington.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY by Brothers Jim Nichols and Dave Daniels.

Burial will follow.  He will be laid to rest near his great-grandmother in Old Fields Cemetery in Argillite, KY.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM till the time of the funeral on Saturday at the funeral home.
