Daphane Nelson 94, of Wurtland KY went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Oakmont Manor Nursing Facility in Flatwoods KY.

She was born in Greenup County Kentucky on April 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Elder John & Lillian Bays Moore.

She was a member of the Little Rosa Old Regular Baptist Church, she was baptized on April 26, 2015. She was a gifted porcelain doll maker, constructing every piece by hand, a quilter and when her nieces and nephews needed clothing she would make or repair them so that they would always have something to wear.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, James Nelson; two brothers, Carl Moore and Kern Moore and two sisters, Kathleen Grubb and Juanita Gartin.

Having no children she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and by her caregiver and niece, Phyllis Tharp. She loved all her family, and they loved her.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Elder Gary Adkins and Elder Gary Blevins.

Burial will follow in the Smith Branch Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home.
