1970 – 2020
Darrin Dwayne Caldwell, 49, died May 20, 2020 in Silver City, New Mexico. Darrin was born September 15, 1970, in Greenup, Kentucky.
Darrin was a big man with a big heart. Always ready to lend a hand and do whatever he could for others. His work ethic was exceptional, and he always strived to be the best he could be at whatever he was doing. Darrin’s goal was to always be the number one shovel operator at the mine. He worked effortlessly to achieve this.
He attended school in Greenup, Kentucky and graduated with the class of 1988. Darrin spent the last 30 years working as a heavy equipment operator. He was currently an employee of Freeport McMoran Chino Mine. Darrin was also member of the Vaqueros Motorcycle Club.
If Darrin was not working, helping friends or with his motorcycle club, he was with his children. He loved them very much. He was extremely proud of them and of their accomplishments. If you knew him, you knew just how much he loved them by the stories he told of them and the time they spent together.
Darrin will be greatly missed. His passing has left a void in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
