David Clark Phillips Jr., 78, of Greenup, KY passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022. at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Lowell IN on December 17, 1943, a son of the late David Clark and Emma Wayne - Scott Phillips.

He was a retired Rigger for AK Steel and a member of the United Steel Workers. He enjoyed reading and Amateur Ham radio.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by his wife, Patricia Joyce Phillips in 2007 and a sister, Barbra Fisher.

He is survived by a son, David Scott Phillips and his wife Brenda of Greenup; daughters, Jennifer Phillips Thomas and her husband Henry of Maysville, Heather Renee Phillips of Greenup and Sarah Joyce Bishop-Hughes and her husband Kevin of Batavia, OH; brother, Bruce Phillips and his wife Melanie; sister, Betsy Mcclenney and her husband Guy; grandchildren, Deanna Smith, Madison Phillips, Victoria Meadows, Christian Thomas, Logan Thomas, Morgan Phillips, Jacob Bishop and Joseph Bishop; five great grandchildren along with many extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Dr. Thomas Melvin.

Burial will follow in the McGuire Cemetery in Greenup KY.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. till the time of service on Thursday at the Funeral Home.
