Donald Ray "Sly" Green

Donald Ray “Sly” Green 78 of Greenup KY went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 26, 2019 at his residence following a sudden illness.

He was born in Covina California on February 28, 1941 a son of the late Ray Chester & Mary Syb Laney Green.

He was a retired truck driver for Farmer Brothers and a veteran of the U.S. Navy; a member of the loyal order of the Moose, American Legion Post 43 and the Kentucky Motorcycle Association; a Tin Can Sailor; Life member of VFW Post 1168 and AMVETS Post 95.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty Jean Wilkins Green; two daughters, Vicki Jane Boyd and her husband Bob of Ashland and Donna Marie Stovic and her husband Bill of Catlettsburg; seven grandchildren, Ben Stovic, Chris Stovic, Nikki Fraley, Brianna Boyd, Jerimiah Boyd, Summer Short and Vanessa Boyd; 10 great grandchildren; a sister in law, Dawn Finney and her husband Don of Michigan and a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside memorial services will be at 1:00 PM Friday, August 30, 2019 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery N.E. in Greenup County KY.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 AM till Noon at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY.

Kenova American Legion Post 93 will conduct military graveside honors.
