1962 – 2023

Charles Eugene “Gene” Hamilton 61 of Greenup County Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 29, 2023, at his residence following a sudden illness.

He was born in Ironton OH on May 8, 1962, a son of the late William June Hamilton and the late Ida Belle Turvey Butler.

He was a retired truck driver and a member of the outcast offroad club.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by a brother, George William Hamberg and three sisters, Thelma Stevens, Mary Ruggles and Angela Clark.

He is survived by his wife Lisa Dawn Duncan Hicks-Hamilton; two stepsons, Cody Allen Hicks (Courtney) of Boyd County and Mark Anthony Hicks (Josie) of Greenup; a brother, David Butler (Angela) of Pedro OH; three sisters, Brenda Collins of Ironton, Diana Hamilton of South Point and Shonnie Butler of Coal Grove; three grandchildren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

A memorial gathering of Gene’s family and friends will be held from 5:00 till 7:00 PM on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY.
