1940 – 2022
Gladys Mae Coleman 81 of Wheelersburg OH went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13, 2022, at S.O.M.C. Hospice Center in Portsmouth OH.
She was born in Greenup County Kentucky on November 25, 1940, a daughter of the late James & Edna Wright Adkins.
She was baptized into the Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church on the 4th Sunday in October of 2006.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband of 47 years, Phillip James Coleman and eight siblings, Calvin Adkins, Charles Adkins, Raymond Adkins, Howard Adkins, Helen Justice, Hazel Simones, Edna Adkins and Nora Salmons.
She is survived by a son, Jeffery Scott Coleman and his wife Shawna of Wheelersburg OH; a daughter, Julie Ann Dettwiller and her husband John of McDermott OH; a sister, Thelma Adkins of Wheelersburg; seven grandchildren, Josh Coleman (Robin), Lynsey Arey (Stephen), Betsy Crabtree (Joseph), Jacob Coleman, Jenny Dettwiller, Tyler Hamilton and Makena Coleman; seven great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, her church family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church in Flatwoods KY by Elder Gary Adkins.
Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM, Sunday June 19, 2022, till the time of the service on Monday at the church.
Church services will be held at 7:00 PM on Sunday during visitation.
Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY has been entrusted with Sister Gladys arrangements.
