1935 – 2023

Harry Russell “Toad” Elswick 87 of Greenup KY went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2023 at his residence following a sudden illness.

He was born in Wurtland KY on November 1, 1935 a son of the late Walter Earl & Louise Bostic Elswick.

He was a retired Clerk for C.S.X. Railroad, an avid horse lover and you could always find him helping Joe Mantz while working in the Weld Shop in Greenup.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by his wife, Norma J. Ash Elswick; a brother, Don Elswick; a stepson, Titus Russell Adkins and two sister in laws, Bonnie Elswick and Joyce Elswick.

He is survived by a brother, Virgil Elswick of Russell; two sisters, Rose Ann Truesdell and her husband Ernie of Flatwoods and Rancalee Potter and her husband Tivis of Worthington; two stepdaughters, Lanora “Janie” Amert of Russell and Pamela Owens of Bucyrus OH; two step granddaughter, Amber Clevenstine of Greenup and Phylicia Austen of Bucyrus; a step grandson, Ryan Brickley of Galion OH; three step great granddaughters, Kayla Traxler, America Traxler and Destini Hall along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Virgil Elswick.

Burial will be held at a later date in the McGuire Cemetery in Greenup.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon till the time of the funeral service on Friday at the funeral home.

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
