Herschel Skaggs

1934 – 2022

Herschel Wayne Skaggs 88 of Load KY went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at his residence.

He was born in York KY on September 20, 1934, a son of the late Cornelius Neil & Mary Cynthia “Nanny” Anderson Skaggs.

He was a retired Welder for AK Steel, was an avid Genealogist and attended the Eureka Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by his wife, Phyllis Skaggs in 2017.

He is survived by three sons, Keith Allen Skaggs, Thomas Ray Skaggs and John Wayne Skaggs; a daughter, Charlotte Ann Fink; a brother, Ralph Skaggs; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

The family will have services at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the Eureka Baptist Church in York KY by Brother Ezra Burton.

A viewing will be held by the family one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.

Burial will follow in the Holley Cemetery.      

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
