1950 – 2024

Howard Douglas Blanton 74, of Greenup KY went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Argillite KY on July 1, 1950, a son of the late John & Ruby Mildred Litteral Blanton.

He was a retired welder for Mansbach Metal and was a member of the Rt. 7 Mission Church.

He was preceded in death along with parents by three brothers, Phillip Blanton, Robert Blanton and Russell Blanton and two sisters, Brenda Higgins and Emily Neace.

He is survived by his wife, Georgia Marie Messer Wright Blanton; three children, Daniel Joseph Wright (Andrea), Melissa Marie Wright (Rodney) and Christopher Matthew Wright (Nickie); six grandchildren, Thien Van Hoang (Abby), Katherine Lynn Morrow, Montana Matthew Wright (Melissa), Lacy King, Madison Tincher and Bailee Goins; two great grandchildren, Cal Alexander Wright and Kehlani Lyric Morrow; three brothers, David Blanton (Alice), James Blanton and Richard Blanton (Stella); five sisters, Shirley Tussey, Sue Gray (David), Belva Braden (Lucky), Janet Skaggs and Juanita Kay Adkins along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Wight’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother David Poplin.

Burial will follow in the Baker – McGinnis Cemetery in Greenup County Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon till the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
