Jim Claxon
1949 – 2022
James Ronald “Jim” Claxon 73 of Wurtland KY went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley Nursing Facility in Ironton OH.
He was born in Ashland KY on March 22, 1949, a son of the late Elmer & Thelma Riffe Claxon.
He was a retired electrician for AK Steel in Mansfield OH, a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death along with his parents by a sister, Patricia Kay Gullett.
He is survived by his wife Bessie L. Gullett Claxon; a daughter, Laura Letitia Claxon of Wurtland; a brother, Charles Ray Claxon and his wife Brenda of Grayson; three sisters, Debbie Vanbibber and her husband Maurice of South Shore, Linda Hunt and her husband Steve of South Shore and Margaret Smallwood and her husband Richard of Greenup; a brother-in-law, Bill Gullett; his beloved pets and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Graveside services and internment will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 18, 2022, at the Quillen Cemetery in Lynn KY by Dr. Thomas Melvin.
There is no visitation.
The family would like to thank Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley for their outstanding love and care they showed to Jim and our family.
Military graveside services will be conducted by the Marine Corps League Lt. Colonel Vance Huston detachment 1345.
Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup KY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
