James Roscoe “Mr. Jim” Adkins 55, of Greenup KY went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 27, 2025, at his residence following a sudden illness.

He was born in Ashland KY on August 13, 1969, and was the son of Everett Ray Adkins and Janet Carol Harr Dixon.

He was a retired custodian for the Greenup County Schools System. He loved to sing karaoke, play music and loved to spend time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse Perry Elvis Dixon and Jackie Spears.

He is survived by a son, Isaac James Adkins (Sabrina) of Greenup; two grandsons, Braxton Adkins and Waylon Adkins; his father, Everett Ray Adkins and his wife Becky of Lynn; his mother, Janet Carol Harr Dixon of Greenup; two brothers, Jason Robert Adkins and his wife Kendra of Lloyd, Joseph Robert Ray Riley of Paris KY; a sister, Jamie Leanne Gibson of Raceland along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Joey Kennedy.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM till the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
