Janice Elaine Swartout of Livonia, Michigan passed away August 28, 2022, at the age of 82.

She was born August 16, 1940, in Oldtown, Kentucky to the late William Vernon and Lillian Ruth Hall.

Beloved wife of the late William James Swartout.

Loving mother of Daniel J. Swartout, Catherine E. Swartout, and Michael P. Swartout. Cherished grandmother of Daniel James Swartout Jr., Ryan James Swartout, Jessica Elaine Swartout, and Carol Ann (Gabe) Hines. Dearest great-grandmother of Jaxon Swartout, Kaisen Swartout, the late Damian, Gabriel, and Troy. Adored niece of Mildred Claxson. Janice is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings Charles W. Hall, Lillian Ruth Barker, and George Hall.

Janice was an avid reader, loved to play cards, garden and a lover of animals. She loved to travel and explore new places. Her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with family. She touched everyone who had the pleasure of spending time with her. She will be deeply missed by all, especially her children who she devoted her life too.

Visitation Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 3 pm until time of funeral service at 6 pm at Neely-Turowski Funeral Home, 30200 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, Michigan 48154.

A second visitation will be held from 10:00 AM till Noon on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY

Committal services and burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast, Greenup County, Kentucky by Dr. Thomas Melvin.
