1941 – 2021

Ellen Janita Cordle 79 of Argillite went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at her residence following a sudden illness.

She was born in Boyd County Kentucky on June 14, 1941 a daughter of the late Raymond & Laura Katherine Wilson Houck.

She was retired from Coyne Textile, was a member of the Vineyard Church of God in Catlettsburg KY and a graduate of Boyd County High School Class of 1959.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by a brother, Bobby Ray Houck and a brother-in-law, Frank Duvall.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Mitchell Cordle Sr.; two sons, Thomas Mitchell Cordle Jr. and his wife Sandra Lynn and Shawn Ray Cordle and his wife Lora Lynn both of Ashland; a daughter, Carma Leta Crum and her husband Jason Alan of Wurtland; five grandchildren, Lindsay Katherine Cordle, Emma Elizabeth (Colton) Allen, Jason Darius Crum, Dharia Leta Crum and Davin Mathais Crum; two sisters, Anna Lorraine (Donald) Sargent and Betty Lou Duvall both of Ashland along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Private funeral services will be held for the family at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Jason Crum.

Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE.

Due to COVID 19 mask and social distancing are required.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to St. Jude’s.
