John Pulliam
1946 – 2020
John David Pulliam 74 of Naples went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Catlettsburg KY on May 12, 1946 a son of the late Robert Pulliam and the late Elsie Forbes Pulliam McClain.
He attended Catlettsburg Schools, served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, retired from Windstream in 2009 as a cable splicer. He enjoyed fishing, working in his gunshop but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren Zach and Brittany.
He was a member of Mavity Freewill Baptist Church where he made an abundance of friends who have been by our side throughout the past few years.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, James Pulliam and two sisters, Marie Thomas and Lorraine Stewart.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Kay Hennecke Pulliam; a daughter, Angie (David) Fox; three grandchildren, Zachary Slone, Brittany Slone and Nathan Fox; three nieces, Kimberly (Tim) Hackworth, Tara (Kym) Rigsby and Elizabeth Stewart; four nephews, Bob (Cristen) Pulliam, Mike Thomas and James (Jeanette) Thomas; along a special nephew who helped care for him during his illness, John Daniel Stewart; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 5, 2020 at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brothers Mike Gullett and Brandon Depriest.
Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
Visitation will be from 6:00 till 8:00 PM on Sunday and one hour before the funeral Monday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Zachary Slone, Logan Riffe, Johnathan Cox, Dakota Sloas, Jordan Madden and Nathan Thacker.
Kenova American Legion will conduct military graveside rites and the funeral will be escorted by the Patriot Riders.
