1954 – 2025

Kenneth Howard Sparks, 71, of Greenup KY, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 7, 2025, at his residence.

He was born in Urbana OH, on April 1, 1954, the son of Farlin Sparks & Vivian Marie Price Helms.

He was a retired independent carpenter who enjoyed working on automobiles and valued spending time with his daughters and grandsons. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Kenny was preceded in death by his Father Farlin Sparks of Prestonsburg, KY, Mother Vivian Marie Helms of Argillite, KY and a brother Thomas Allen Sparks of Argillite, KY.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Sparks of Wurtland, KY; his two daughters Rena Sparks and her husband Mike Foley of Las Vegas, NV and Tabbatha Crum and her husband Nicholas Crum of Pearland, TX, seven grandsons, Joshua Crum and his wife Leslie Nichols, Caleb Crum who is serving in the United States Army, Jonathan Crum who is serving in the Marines, David Crum of Pearland, Benaiah Crum of Pearland, Isaac Crum of Pearland and Ashon Crum of Pearland; two Great Grandsons Samson Crum and Elisha Crum; three sisters Marsha Hill and spouse Joey Hill of Lexington, KY, Kath Sparks-Bartram of Ashland, KY, and Rhonda Collett of Greenup, KY; a brother, Mark Helms of Ashland KY along with a host of extended family and friends.   

Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2025, from 2:00 PM till 5:00 PM at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY.

Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery N.E. in Greenup County Kentucky with Military honors being conducted by the Kenova American Legion and members of the United States Airforce.
