Leo Clarence Rice 80, of Flatwoods KY, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Rush KY on March 20, 194, and he was the son of the late Ben & Ella Mae Miller Rice.

He was a retired Auto Mechanic and a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose and the V.F.W.   

Leo was a very special husband and father to his family.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by four siblings, Doris Darby, Dee Meade, Esther Faye Blevins and Meda Grayson.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Edna Mae Mullins Rice; six children, Jerry Rice and his wife Mary, Tammy Perkins and her husband Thomas, Scott Rice and his wife Heidi, Angie Greathouse, Angie Hazelett and her husband Chuck and Kevin Miller and his wife Cindy; six siblings, James Rice, Tommy Rice and his wife Rosella, Phillip Rice, Timothy Rice, Connie Bays and her husband Gary and Sharon Strait and her husband Wes along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and a host of cousins.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Jim Smedley.

Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery NE in Greenup County Kentucky.

Visitation will be after 6:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2025, and from 11:00 AM till the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

The Kenova American Legion and active members of the U.S. Army will conduct military graveside rites.

In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to Community Hospice 1480 Carter Ave. Ashland KY 41101.
