Leonard Elwood Nickel, 79, of East Tygart in Greenup County, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 13, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Portsmouth OH, on May 28, 1945, a son of the late Robert Earl & Luna Quillen Nickel.

He was a grounds keeper at Ohio State University.

He was proceeded in death along with his parents by a brother, Noel Burton and his stepmother, Garnet Burton Nickel.

He has survived by his wife Virginia Lee Cash Nickel; a daughter; Kimberly Dawn Nickel (Deborah) of Columbus OH; a brother, Joseph Earl Nickel (Dolly) of Greenup KY along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at Wright’s Funeral Home by brothers Jack Hall and Norman Staker.

Burial will follow at the Brick Union Cemetery, in Lloyd KY.

Visitation will be after 6:00PM on Monday, December 16, 2024, and one hour before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
