Loretta May Ison 90 of South Shore KY went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wurtland KY.

She was born in Wurtland KY on January 7, 1933 a daughter of the late David & Lottie Adams Melvin.

She was a Christian and of the Baptist Faith.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Orvil Ison; a brother, Benny Melvin; a sister, Phyllis Kilgore; a sister-in-law, Verna Melvin and a brother-in-law, Glenn Newsome.

She is survived by a daughter, Lottie Jeanne Ison of South Shore; five sons, Orvil David Ison and his wife Vicky of Erlanger KY, Jonathan Walker Ison and his wife Margaret of Cold Springs KY, Harold Ray Ison and his wife Marjorie of Burnside KY, James Michael Ison and his wife Kimberly of Erlanger and Richard Loren Ison and his wife Mary of Burlington KY; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a sister, Rachel Newsome of South Shore; five brothers, Elmo Melvin of Wurtland, Ed Melvin and his wife Linda of Worthington, Wayne Melvin and his wife Lila of Wurtland, Danny Melvin and his wife Molly of Parker CO and Tommy Melvin and his wife Janette of Raceland along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the Melvin Cemetery off St. Rt. 503 in Wurtland KY by Dr. Thomas Melvin.

There is no visitation.
