Luther Nichols
1952 – 2025
Luther Eugene “Biggin” Nichols, 72 of Argillite KY went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY surrounded by his family.
He was born in Boyd County KY on September 15, 1952, a son of the late Luther Elwood & Polly Stevens Nichols.
Luther worked at the Greenup County Road Department for Greenup County Fiscal Court. He attended the Raccoon Freewill Baptist Church of Greenup where he was saved. Luther enjoyed church, family and spending time on the farm.
He was proceeded in death along with his parents by a brother, Lester Woody Nichols; two sisters, Debra Kincaid and Rita Sue Smith; seven brothers-in-law, Frank Rhoden, Curt Fairchild, Arnett Howard, Ray Spears, Joe Rice, Lewis Kincaid and Harvey David Kiser and three sisters-in-law, Nancy Kiser, Marilyn Kiser and Opal Fairchild.
He has survived by his wife of 35 years, Shirley Kiser Nichols; a son Curtis Eugene Nichols, three brothers, Dave (Margie) Nichols, Raymond (Peggy) Nichols and Richard (Tracy) Nichols; two sisters, Sandra Kaye Rice and Melissa Ann (Bill) Fenney; three sisters-in-law, Herma Spears, Betty Fairchild and Phyllis Abney; two brothers-in-law, Phillmore Kiser and Kenny Abney, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 4, 2025 by brothers Steve Stapleton & Jeff Bond at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY.
Visitation will begin at noon till time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow after the service at Poynter Cemetery in Argillite KY.
