1942 – 2025
Malinda Arlene McCoy 82, of Garrison KY went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland KY.
She was born in Greenup County Kentucky on April 26, 1942, a daughter of the late Charles R. & Zona Cooper Worthington.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Clyde McCoy in 2015; a son, Dennis R. McCoy; a daughter, Brenda J. McCoy; a brother, Bud Worthington and a sister, Barbara Worthington.
She is survived by two sons, Clyde E. McCoy and his wife Connie of Carter City KY and Charles T. McCoy and his wife Becky of Garrison; six daughters, Theresa McGlone of Olive Hill, Diana McCoy of Carter City, Tina Evans and her husband Bob of Anderson IN, Susan Williams and her husband Chris of Owingsville, Debra Potter and her husband Ed of Greenup and Elaine Butterfield and her husband Charlie of Tacoma WA; 22 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren and great great grandchild; three brothers, Kenny Worthington of Logan OH, Gary Worthington of Greenup and J.R. Abdon of Paintsville; four sisters, Janet Brown of Wurtland, Freda Zornes of Grayson, Sue Workman of Olando FL and Charlotte Worthington of Indiana along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brother Floyd Neace.
Burial will follow in the Arms Cemetery on Smith Creek in Carter County.
Visitation will be after 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 2, 2025, and one hour before the funeral on Monday at the funeral home.
Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
