Marlena Lynn “Nene” Riley 58, of Elberta AL, formerly of Ashland KY, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 17, 2024.

She was born in Columbus Ohio on January 31, 1966, a daughter of Danny R. Riley of Lillian AL & the late Penny N. Lambrose Marsee.

She was an avid bingo player, a lover of all animals including her cats and turtles. She had a love for all types of music but more so Punk rock and loved to travel. 

She was preceded in death along with her mother by a daughter, Elana Christine Larsen and her grandmother, Christine.

She is survived along with her father by her son, Julian Thigpen of Elberta, AL; two sisters, Debra Byrd of Greenup Kentucky and Veta Gerlach of Cape Girardeau MO; two brothers, Danny Wayne “Tater” Riley and Sean Riley both of Foley AL; 3 nephews, Derrick Byrd, Decon Riley and Silas Gerlach; along with many extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Marlena’s Life will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Rose Hill Cemetery Chapel.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
