1933 – 2021

Mary Sue Farley, 88, of Worthington, KY went to be with the LORD Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY.

She was born June 16, 1933, in Ashland, KY, the daughter of the late Lige & Lillian Lavender Loar.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Grandparents, George and Virgie Gartin Loar & Lewis Henry and Susie Hall Lavender; her only sibling, her brother, Admiral Charles R. Loar along with several aunts, uncles & cousins as well as her ex-husband, George R. Farley.

She was a loving mother and grandmother & a friend to everyone she met.

She was a 1951 graduate of Ashland Senior High School.  She retired from Ashland Oil, Inc. on December 31, 1991, as Payroll Coordinator with 35 years of service.

She was a member of Greenup First Baptist Church. 

She is survived by a son, Bill Farley and his wife Lisa of Worthington, KY; five grandsons, Michael Caleb of Louisa, KY, Tyler Lige, William Ryan, Tristan Shawn and his wife Courtney & Kayden Gunner, all of Worthington, KY; one granddaughter, Megan Sue Ann of Richmond, KY; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Loar of Birmingham, AL along with several cousins and a special longtime friend, Leslie R. Baer, of Flatwoods, KY.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Dr. Tom Melvin.

Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.

Friends may call Saturday from 6:00-8:00 PM and one hour before the funeral Sunday at the funeral home.
