1974 – 2021

Matthew Lee “Butch” Jackson 47 of Greenup KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY.

He was born in Kings Daughters on January 24, 1974, a son of Richard Nicholas & Alice Louise Ailster Jackson of Greenup.

Butch was a graduate of Greenup County High School Class of 1992 and was raised attending the St. John’s A.M.E. Church in Greenup. He was a stockman with Applegates grocery for 17 years and was a die hard, AVID Michigan Wolverines fan.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Ann Jackson and a daughter, Jensyn Archey.

He is survived along with his parents by his sister, Anita Jo Jackson of Greenup; a brother, Roman Garred of West Palm Beach FL; two nephews, Jair Jackson (Allison Voyles) and Jherrell Jackson and his wife Aimee; his best friends, Junior Gumbert, Jesse Traylor and Sabrina Robinson along with a host of extended family and friends who loved him dearly.

Matt’s family will receive visitors and friends for a celebration of his life from 4:00 PM till 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY.     

Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
