1952 – 2024

Carlos Michael Bays 71 of Raceland KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at his residence.

He was born in Ashland KY on November 7, 1952, a son of the late John William & Bethel Brown Bays.

He was a retired Carman for the CSX Railroad and a veteran of the U.S. Airforce. He was an avid fan of University of Kentucky Basketball, the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals.  

He is survived by a son, Justin Michael Bays and his wife Nakota of Olive Hill KY; a brother, John Paul Bays and his wife Nancy of Lloyd; four sisters, Nora Grubb of Oldtown KY, Flo Meadows of Greenup KY, Barbara Vangorden of Oldtown and Carolyn Worley and her husband Ray of Clarksville TN; two grandchildren, Lorelai Bays and Matilda Chapman along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY.

Burial will follow in the William S. Bays Cemetery in Oldtown KY.

Visitation will be from 11:00 AM till the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home.

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup, KY. has been entrusted with the arrangements.
