1931 – 2022

Mildred Jean Carr 91 of Lynn KY went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at her residence.

She was born in Greenup County Kentucky on August 16, 1931, a daughter of the late William Edwin & Willia Robinson Fitzwater.

She was a retired cook for Greenbo Lake State Park and the Greenup County School system; she was a member of the Load Christian Baptist Church, she loved to Quilt and wanted to feed anyone that came to visit her at her home.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband of 64 years, Clayton O. Carr; three brothers, Delbert Fitzwater, Leonard Fitzwater and William E. Fitzwater and two sisters, Juanita Grubbs and Geraldine Hale.

She is survived by a son, Charles Carr and his wife Sharon of Greenup; two daughters, Pamela Short and her husband Calvin of Trinton OH and Lisa Bear and her husband Bobby of Greenup; a brother, Landon Fitzwater of Lloyd; eleven grandchildren, Nikki Carr, Valerie Hutt, Ryan Miller, Tera Mason, Leann Blair, John Short, Chris Bear, Stephanie Bentley, Nathan Carr, Brandon Carr and Kyle Short; seventeen great grandchildren; her caregiver, Shelia Adkins along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY by Brothers David Bentley and Robbie Bond.

Burial will follow in the Quillen Cemetery in Lynn KY.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till the time of the funeral on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Wright’s Funeral Home in Greenup KY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
