Norma Gillum
1936 – 2023
Norma Jean Gillum 87 of Greenup KY went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born on Clay Lick, in Argillite KY on October 28, 1936, a daughter of the late Adam & Lona Callihan Riley.
She was a devout member of the Greenup First Baptist Church and loved her Women’s group and Sunday School Class.
She was formally a long-term caregiver and babysitter to many in the Greenup area.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by a daughter, Cynthia Lynn Stephens.
She is survived by a son, Danny W. Gillum of Oldtown KY; three grandchildren, Jamie Gilliam and his wife Jessica of Greenup, Melanie Gillum (Mike Potter) of Argillite and Jeremy Gillum and his wife Meghan of Oldtown; six great grandchildren, Rylee Gilliam (Emma Frazier), Karter Gilliam, Mia Gillum, Jace Gillum, Jaxen Gillum and Jude Gillum; a son in law, James Martin “Marty” Stephens of Greenup along with a host of extended family, her church family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at the Greenup First Baptist Church in Greenup KY by Dr. Thomas Melvin, Brother Jack Edwards and Brother Travis Votaw.
Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods KY.
Visitation will be from 6:00 till 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, and one hour before the funeral service on Wednesday at the church.
